Van Hunt Releasing EP and Full Length Album over the next 6 Months Soulful singer Van Hunt is expected to drop two releases in the next few months.
First, he's dropping a digital EP next month, which will be followed by his third full-length album, Popular, in January 2008. Van Hunt's digital EP, The Popular Machine, will be available on August 7th. The set includes the first two singles from Popular, "Turn My TV On" and "The Lowest 1 Of My Desires." The project also includes acoustic versions of "Character" and "Night is Young," from Van Hunt's 2006 album On The Jungle Floor. Hunt says Popular, which he also produced, is his best effort yet. "It's the best written one and the one with the best arrangements," Van Hunt told Billboard.com. "I think if I can speak artistically, it's just very well put together." The multi-talented singer/songwriter recently wrote three songs for fellow R&B artist Anthony Hamilton. In addition to current studio work with Hamilton, Van Hunt revealed plans for live performances later this summer. He's also venturing into literary work, having penned a book of short stories which he hopes will be published before the end of 2008. Popular, which hits stores January 15th and The Popular Machine will be released on Blue Note Records, best known for many of EMI's jazz records. Van Hunt's previous efforts, Van Hunt and On The Jungle Floor were on Capitol Records. A track list for Popular is listed below: "Turn My TV On" "Prelude (The Dimples On Ur Bottom)" "Ur Personal Army" "Popular: Count's Coda" "N the Southern Shade" "There's Never a G'time 2 Say G'bye" "Feelings" "SNM" "The Lowest 1 of My Desires" "Break Down Ur Door" "Ur a Monster, Parts 1 & 2" "Blood From a Heart of Stone" "Bits & Pieces" "Finale (it All Ends N Tears)" SOHH

Under appreciated is how I would describe V Hunt's last album. If this is half as good as his last it will be better than 90% of all R&B/Pop albums out with more fanfare. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

I wish he'd include "God Moves at Midnight" on the EP. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

If his short stories are anything like the stuff he wrote on his website, then they'll be on 'iceberg slim' status instantly. "Pedro offers you his protection."
