These are my favorite songs that Babyface recorded himself:
"Mary Mack" (1987) "Chivalry" (1987) "Whip Appeal" (1989) "Soon As I Get Home" (1989) "Sunshine" (1989) "My Kinda Girl" (1989) "Rock Bottom" (1993) "When Can I See You Again" (1993) "For The Cool In You" (1993) These are my favorite songs that he wrote/produced for others... "Another Sad Love Song" by Toni Braxton (1993) "Breathe Again" by Toni Braxton (1993) "Take A Bow" by Madonna (1994) "Forbidden Love" by Madonna (1994) "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown (1988) "In The Mood" by the Whispers (1987) "Dial My Heart" by the Boys (1988) "There's No Me Without You" by Toni Braxton (1996) "Diggin' On You" by TLC (1994) "Roses Are Red" by the Mac Band (1988) "Heat Of The Moment" by After 7 (1990) "Fairweather Friend" by Johhny Gill (1990) "I Don't Want To Know" by Gladys Knight (1994) I'd love a box set containing all these songs and many more.

Indy loves him:
he was just honored as an Indiana Living Legend and has part of I-65 named after him. "In 1999, a 25-mile (40-km) stretch of Interstate 65 that runs through Indianapolis was renamed Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds Highway."

I wonder what his new album will be like since he's linked back with LA Reid...

FYI:
Babyface didn't write Change The World, neither did Eric Clapton. The song is is a remake. The original is from some Country & Western chick (duno her name). & yeah ..... Face was Da Man!

You have compiled an excellent list grasshopper, (especially the bayface solo cuts), but I must add some to your list: There She Goes My Kinda Girl (The 12" remix) you get when you buy Tender Love on CD It's No Crime Lady, Lady (I listened to this song non-stop when I was in Russia in 2004) Well, Alright The Lover in YOu (With LL Cool J, Howard Hewett and Jody Watley) Tender Lover (remix on Tender Lover) Love Saw it (With Karyn White) Love Makes Things Happen (with Pebbles) Lover and Friend I Love You Babe How Come, How Long (with Stevie Wonder) Two Occasions (with THe Deele) Saturday You Are So Beatiful Give U My Heart (with Toni Braxton, this song doesn't get enough love) Change the World (Live MTV Unplugged Version with Eric Clapton and Sheila E.) Songs written by Babyface: Love Shoulda Brought You Home (Toni Braxton) End of The Road (Boyz to Men) My, My, My (Johnny Gill) Can't Stop- Remix, After 7 I know there's many more, but he's so prolific, alll of them don't come to mind right now. When I heard he was at 3121, I was PISSED I did not go. I wouldn't have been the only woman fainting for Babyface at a Prince concert! Excellent Thread, by the way.

I always looked at Babyface as some stylistic cross between Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson and Al Green. Here are my favorite songs performed by Babyface:
* "I Love You Babe" * "It's No Crime" * "Whip Appeal" * "For the Cool in You" * "Rock Bottom" * "And Our Feelings" Favorite songs written and produced by Babyface are more numerous, so me name some that immediately come to mind: * The Whispers' "Rock Steady" * The Whispers' "In the Mood" * Karyn White's "Love Saw It" (a duet with Babyface) * Pebbles' "Girlfriend" * Bobby Brown's "Don't Be Cruel" * Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step" * Bobby Brown's "Rock wit' Cha" * After 7's "Can't Stop" * Johnny Gill's "My, My, My" * Johnny Gill's "There U Go" * Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" * Toni Braxton's "Give U My Heart" (a duet with Babyface) * Toni Braxton's "Love Shoulda Brought You Home Last Night" * Toni Braxton's "Breathe Again" * Toni Braxton's "You Mean the World to Me" * Toni Braxton's "Seven Whole Days" * Tevin Campbell's "Can We Talk" * Tevin Campbell's "Always in My Heart" * Mary J. Blige's "Not Gon' Cry" [Edited 8/16/07 20:03pm] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

I like the song he did with Phil Collins...True Colors, I think it was.
Other than that, though, I'm not familiar with his music. "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran

Well, she was something of a superstar (albeit very briefly). She enjoyed almost immediate success on both the R&B and pop charts. She had 6 top-5 R&B singles (including 4 #1's) and 3 top-5 pop singles. A video would've surely pushed "Always" into the top 10 at least. Her third album wasn't a commercial success, but the critics loved it. It is seen by some as being one of the very first "neo soul" albums. I appreciated him better when he was a member of The Deele. He bored the hell out of me afterwards. Andy is a four letter word.

Oh come on Vain...he did some good uptempo jams as a solo artist... "I Love You Babe" (1987) "Mary Mack" (1987) "It's No Crime" (1989) "My Kinda Girl" (1989) "For The Cool In You" (1993) "Rock Bottom" (1993) you can't really accuse him of abandoning fast songs, lol

I think her career was doomed after the whole TLC mess, when they filed for bankruptcy.Pebbles later sued LA and Babyface, and her marriage deteriorated. She never had another hit after that.

Actually, when I first heard that song, I said..."It sounds like shit but it does sound a little better than most of her previous shit". A white friend of mine at the time said "I love Whitney Houston but I don't like this one, she sounds too black". I said "Believe me, she's still the same Whiteny Houston that she's always been". That's what I used to call her before I became all "politically correct" and started calling her Shitney so I wouldn't offend anyone. . . [Edited 8/2/07 7:17am] Andy is a four letter word.

Interestingly, the 'I'm Your Baby Tonight' album was an attempt to make Whitney sound more R&B.There had been complaints that her music was becoming too pop and so LA and Babyface were called in to give her a funkier, more soulful sound.

I don't think there's much room for argument on the quintessential Babyface song. For R&B fans, it's "Whip Appeal"; for his crossover fans, it's "When Can I See You." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

It's funny how much Face tried to cop Prince's steelo. First with coming out with The Deele which was Face's attempt at being like The Time. Then when Face produced his own stable, they ALL sounded like him: Jon B., Toni Braxton, Tony Rich - ALL sounded like him, the same way P would try and have a lot of his protogees sound.
Shit, when I heard Jon B.'s "Someone To Love" I had no idea it was a duet with him and Jon B. because they sounded exactly alike. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher
