WHOA, MANDY!!!

eek

i like this girl. she seems to be coming into her own quite nicely too. she released a great album a couple years ago called "COVERAGE" that was sorely overlooked and hardly noticed. Sony didn't even lift a finger to promote it. her latest album is really good. she wrote, co-wrote all the songs.
it's very simplistic and straight forward. sort of a throw back to 70's singer/songwriter era if you will. the title track "WILD HOPE" and "GARDENIAS" are my two favourites. she's also headlining a tour with PAULA COLE. dare i ask..but anyone else here like MANDY MOORE?

TOTALLY agree 100% with everything u said. I was going to do a post on all the POP laides from that era. Manyd,Britney,Xtina and Jessica, kind of a study of them through the last decade, which its almost been. And honestly to me MANDY is the one i always thought had the most talent, the reason she doesnt get the "coverage" well, she has had a meltdown, or any crazy antics to get her attention but i agree on the 70's singer songwriter comparison, she is right there in my book. I remember her talking about Joni Mitchell once and i knew this girl knew what she was talking about, and then her vocals, she honestly is a great vocalist, alot of people have no clue how good she is. And she is very respectable, just a normal good girl, similar to a Hilary or Haylie Duff, just a very "grounded" person.

Yeah i have all her albums and ite great to see the growth of an artist, sure she started as a POP girl but hey everyone has to start from something, just like Hilary started as lizzie mcguire and a teen star and now shes done, what i think is the best POP record in a long time for anyone.

I'm more familiar with her acting than I am with her music, but I do remember liking the song "Candy" (although in the video for that song her tongue seemed too big for her mouth or something.)

I think she's a super cute girl. And talented too. There are some pretty decent songs on the "Walk To Remember" soundtrack.

Dan, this is great news as I won't have to rely on hearing an alto anorexic sing or see a Barbie doll to think of you! I now have Mandy to evoke your image!

Huzzah!

Miss ya!

She is cute, and I love Walk to Remember. And, yes, now you have a relatively stable individual to remind you of me. biggrin

Last month, I covered a free concert here she did in St. Charles, IL for the newspaper I work for (The Daily Herald). She seemed kind of distant and of course would not talk to the press (and looked at me like I was a runaway slave when I tried to ask her a question for the article).

However, she was very pretty in person and she has a very nice voice. Unlike Britney Spears and countless others she can actually sing. her new album, Wild Hope is actually pretty good.

But if I see her in the future when I am an accomplished journalist, I'll never forget that snub.
