Sad to hear about Angela Bofill. I was also fond of her songs from the 80's.

That's sad news. May God Bless her. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

Even though I don't know who she is, that's sad news. "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran

This is so sad to hear, she is a wonderful singer. If you were to rank all of the prominent Women singers of the seventies, she would be in the top twenty. Although she did not have the major hit that other singers had, she established herself as a force to be reckoned with. This is just my informal list of R & B women from the seventies in term of importance.
20. Natalie Cole 19. Phoebe Snow 18. Angela Bofill 17. Patti Austin 16. Patti Labelle 15. Betty Davis 14. Gloria Gaynor 13. Thelma Houston 12. The Pointer Sisters 11. Dionne Warwick 10. Aretha Franklin 9. Minnie Ripperton 8. Roberta Flack 7. Donna Summer 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Diana Ross and I will stop right here because I have to some research on who should fill out the rest of the list, I'm seriously lacking here. [Edited 7/23/07 18:40pm] Jeux Sans Frontiers

Sad to hear she suffered another stroke.
A concert fundraiser was held in Detroit this past February to raise money for her medical bills.

I used to love Angie Bofill. I think "I Try" may be my favorite song by her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

I remember seeing her in concert at the Orpheum back in the 80's. That was when she had the hit song "Too Tough" out. She put on a good show, And she had a killer, Sexy red dress on that showed off her figure very nicely. But what really surprised me was her wide range of music. She did Jazz, Funk, R&B and Rap. Yes Rap. I remember her saying that if that white chick from Blondie can do it, then she can too. I was impressed. I'll pray for her. [Edited 7/27/07 19:17pm]

Aww. I'm very saddened to hear that. I love Angela Bofill. She's another great artist that did not get her just due. Had she been given the props she so rightfully deserved, chances are she would not be having an issue with paying medical bills. It's extremely unfortunate. I'm so sorry to hear about that. I pray that she recovers. Much, much love to her.
