Paisley Park = Yellow submarine

But that sounds like Yellow submarine... Just terrible attempt lol

eek
"Paisley Park" = one of the best songs on ATWIAD
"Yellow Submarine" = the worst Beatles song without "9" in the title

ATWIAD album over all is a pathetic attempt to sound like the Beatles... lol

And seriously Yellow Submarine is MUCH better than Paisley Park IMO... lol

Yellow Submarine = original
Pailsey Park = Awful Copycat

Can't agree there. I find YS excruciatingly painful, but I love PP.

Well I know Brian McKnight's song "she use to be my girl" sounds like a ripoff of Bobby Valentino's whole album released in '05.

Also Brian was ripping off Marvin Gaye's voice on that "find myself in u" song. I remember everybody was like "is this an unreleased Marvin song" then we all realized it was just that damn Brian trying to sound like Marvin. disbelief

The Bar-Kays' "Freakshow on the Dancefloor" evidently was inspired by Midnight Star's "No Parking on the Dancefloor."

yep, that was THE sound to have then.
JJ's "control" sounds alot like Midnight Star's "Freek-a-zoid"
they even use the same melody in spots.

I was mad when I initially heard the song, then I stop being mad but I imagine that this is MARVIN singing it instead of Brian because it was probably an unreleased Marvin composition that Brian finally got a hold of and recorded his version. shrug Brian sounded a whole lot like Prince in "The Love of My Life" but I digress this is about what a SONG sounds like. lol

Speaking of Marvin, if you heard a song Donnie has on his latest album, "The Daily News", he has a song I listen to on Music Choice's Smooth R&B station all the time titled "Robot". That song sounds an AWFUL lot like Marvin's 1982 joint, "Midnight Lady" when you break it down musically and even vocally in some parts. Donnie claims Marvin's his second cousin.

Marvin's "Time to Get It Together" sound a bit like Stevie's "As" to me.

The whole album was essentially a Beatles tribute, with "Raspberry Beret," "Pop Life," "Tambourine" and "America" coming off better than the rest. They may have been derivative, but "RB" and "PL" are classics in their own right.

Not to mention the "killer B's" . . .

What I was actually gonna say was The Cure's "The Walk" sounds an awful lot lik e"Blue Monday" by New Order. But apparently The Cure's single came first.

The piano on "anytime"...was ripped from Meshell's "Outside your door".
Whats really F-ed-up is the fact that Brian refuses to admit it to this day.

Last Train To Clarksville by the Monkees sounds like early Beatles.

Funny story - years ago I worked at a summer camp, and was playing CDs on the sound system during a break. A teenage camper came up to me and said "Hey, can you play that song, Hey Hey We're The Monkees - you know, the one by The Beatles"...

LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE SOUND LIKE DAY TRIPPER

I also would add Tony! Toni! Tone!'s "Thinking of You," which clearly was inspired by Al Green. It's more of an "On purpose" knock-off.
