El Debarge's Falsetto could shatter every glass window on the Northside of MPLS. Debarge was one of those groups who were good when they were FUNKY. But they messed up when they went pop (Rhythm Of The Night and El's "Who's Johnny) .

DeBarge defined R&B IMHO. How many artists have since taken the lyrics from "I Like It" just to add to any of the DeBarges' paychecks? How many have sampled that song, "All This Love", "In a Special Way", "Time Will Reveal", "A Dream" and "Stay With Me" among others? How many artists have sung:
I like the way you comb your hair I like the stylish clothes you wear It's just the little things you do That show how much you really care and the bridge: I like it, I like it I really, really like it I'm for it, adore So come and be my joy Too bad the mainstream only know "Rhythm of the Night" and "Who's Holding Donna Now" from them.

I still liked them. For my money, "Rhythm of the Night" is the best song Diane Warren ever wrote. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Was it Mark or Randy? I think it's Randy... I love the part where El just tears it up at the end of the song and that falsetto note he hit was HEAVEN.

He co-wrote it too Wait a minute... was it Randy or Mark who co-wrote it? I'm not too sure. I think all the DeBarges sung lead at one point, it's just that El took lead on their hits. Was "Stay With Me" sung by another DeBarge too? I know El's voice but all the other DeBarges had similar vocals. To say the DeBarges (El, Randy, Mark, James, Bobby, Tommy, Bunny, Chico, etc) were/are talented would be an understatement.
