Prince and Jimi

Has Prince ever recorded a Hendrix song or played one of his songs in concert?

Prince has a version of Red House (dubbed Purple House) on the Jimi Hendrix tribute called "power of soul - a tribute to Jimi Hendrix.

It's not bad IMHO compared to the version of red house by john lee hooker (also on the same disc).
I sorta expected more from John Lee.

Prince did a cool cover of Villanova Junction at PP during the mid 90's. there's this bootwreca called chicken grease that has my favorite version of this trax.

I've heard a live version of "Voodoo Chile" by him in 92. I also read in a book that P recorded his own version of "Purple Haze" back in 82 but it's supposedly in his vault.

Prince does a version of 'Red House' that I have on vinyl which was recorded live at Palais De Bercy in France in 87. It's quite cool.
