JB got one of his songs too. "Baby You're Right" went #2 R&B, I'm sure Joe got SOME residuals from it. Joe claimed James stole his spin, his splits, the way he would stop and then come back, particularly everything except the cape routine (which James admits he got from wrestler Gorgeous George ). That's why after Joe mocked him during James' Macon show that James damn near blasted him. Joe even says "I'M the Godfather of Soul". I think Joe really had something against James that he just couldn't shake off.

Wow, Joe Tex vs. James Brown was like Tupac vs. Biggie back in the day. Thank God both died of natural causes and not of gunshots.

Dammitt, I had forgotten that they showed Joe Tex during the "History Book" section of the episode. I was drinking that night while I was recording it and was disappointed with the musical guests last week and most of the songs for the dancers (duplicates of previous recent episodes). Afterwards, I threw my recording in the trash. I forgot Joe Tex was on there....I would have kept my recording for that.
Oh well, that's what I get for recording while I was drunk. I usually record it in the daytime but they had a fucking ballgame on WGN instead. Once again WGN, if you are going to air a ballgame, leave "Soul Train" alone and take off that dead ass bullshit "American Idol" instead. Andy is a four letter word.
