1970s R&B Classic of the Day: Chuck Brown and The Soul Searchers "Bustin' Loose" Going back to 1979, this go-go classic was the first such song to reach No. 1 of the Billboard R&B Singles chart. The song was famous for Chuck Brown's yelling in the chorus, "I feel like bustin' loose. Gimmethebridge, now! Gimmethebridge, now now!" A somewhat forgotten funk classic. [Edited 7/19/07 21:53pm] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. Not forgotten by everybody.
This 2-disc comp has stayed in the rotation in my car for at least the past 6 months... ...The Best of Chuck Brown Not only does it have his standard Go-Go fare, but it includes a live Bonus Track called Can't Nobody (Do me like Jesus) (done with full church choir and backing band) Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers were part of the homecoming entertainment at FAMU the year Bustin' Loose was hot. They almost shook Jake Gaither Gym off its foundation they rocked the placed so hard. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 7/20/07 6:55am] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. .....and he has Nelly to thank for bringing this song to the youngsters. Cause if, "Hott in Herrrr", isn't a direct ripoff of this song, then something is wrong with my ears. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth" | |
