Who should Lenny work with on the FUNK?

Reading about the future release of the Funk album that Lenny Kravitz has been working on for years has suddenly got me very excited. The thought of Funk being brought back at a time where black music is in most need of an adrenaline injection. And I think Lenny is the man to do it. He has the support of mainstream radio and I just hope that black radio supports the Funk and not decide that it's white music because of live instruments.

My picks would be Rob "fonkstarr" Bacon on guitars, dude is the definitely one of the funkiest guitar player around today. He can be heard all over R. Saadiq Live at the House of Blues CD

Drums and production by ?uestlove of the Roots or maybe Chris "daddy" Dave

Bass: Can't think of anyone apart from legends like Bootsy but the again Lenny usually plays bass on his albums. Meshell Ndegeocello maybe?

Keys:James Poyser of the soulquarians and Randy Watson Experience(with ?uestlove) or Bernie Worrell

Horns: Tower of Power horn section

If Lenny is being totally Lenny, he will be playing most instruments himself and have someone over to do the guitar solo's and all is fine.

If it is a follow-up on "5", though, I am not interested. If it sounds like it could be somewhere between Mama Said and Are You Gonna Go My Way without getting too smooth, then it might be fun.

Or maybe 'Is It Me? Is It You'-kinda freaky funk. mushy

That's not really fair. He does quite a few of his own guitar solos...

Yeah lenny is a very good musician but I feel like he needs an outside producer after the duds that was Baptism and Lenny. ?uestlove would be perfect and I feel those guys would bring the best out of him.

Lenny should just use the band he's got. They're all great and versatile musicians and probably do more than just Lenny's music. Cindy Blackman is a phenomenal drummer and Craig Ross can get loose on the guitar.
