Queen Latifah w/Stevie, Erykah & Jill and More

Queen Latifah has a new music project scheduled for release this Fall.

The Queen's latest album, which is titled Trav'lin Light, finds her singing classic songs that has been previously covered by the likes of Nina Simone, Roberta Flack, Etta James, Sarah Vaughn, Peggy Lee and Carmen McRae. Co-produced by Tommy LiPuma and Geffen Records chairman, Ron Fair, Trav'lin Light is Queen Latifah's second album for Verve.

Latifah's previous effort, 2004's The Dana Owens Album has sold 701,000 copies domestically according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Trav'lin Light features guest appearances from Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. Keyboardists George Duke and Joe Sample, bassist Christian McBride and guitarist Anthony Wilson are also among musicians backing Latifah on the project.

A multi-talented performer, Queen Latifah stars alongside John Travolta and Michelle Pfeifer in the summer musical Hairspray, which hit theatres tomorrow (July 20).

Trav'lin Light is scheduled to be released on September 25.

With heavy hitters like: Stevie, Badu, Jill, George Duke, Joe Sample, Christrian McBride, and Athony Wilson on the case, this sounds like a hellified project.
