Look Out Prince! “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

This must be your first time hearing her version. Yea she did a good cover. But it's a great song anyway. She did this YEARS ago though.

Sounding great at 54. It's also the first time I've seen her doing it with a guitar slung round her neck, hence the Prince reference, but don't take that too seriously. This is all just fun, yes? “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Yea, it's all good.
I have heard many people cover this song and every version I have heard is pretty solid. i guess it's one of those songs that you can't really fuck up unless you're T-Pain or someone like that. Peep my new shit www.cdbaby.com/symbol2

I don't think Prince needs to be losing sleep over Cyndi. The title is not that serious. I'm just shining a little light on someone who I think deserves it. And since you ask, I think I do prefer her version to Prince's, yes, but that is not a slight in any way. He's got a good few other tunes under his belt. Still, I'm sure he'll sleep easier tonight knowing you're out there protecting his rep. Keep up the good work. It's amateur footage obviously and a little on the short side, but there's a whole lotta power coming through there. Them's some pipes. You might prefer the studio version. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Just found a longer version. Camera's all over the place, but you get the whole song and an intro. The quality's better too.

ZOMG PUT HER ON WIKIPEDIA'S LIST OF GAY PEOPLE! The one problem I have with Cyndi is she keeps neglecting this important song from her past: http://www.youtube.com/wa...TRxZ5A_45I "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

She's always had a little "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" thing going on. But it's always been a subtle jokey thing for the initiated only. She Bop's a good example. I don't think most people had any clue that was about masturbation. If you look at the cover photo on Hatful Of Stars, it's a very romantic and classy black and white image until you look more closely and you realise she's actually sitting on a garbage can. She's always had things that could be taken on two different levels. It was an approach that a certain upstart from Detroit picked up on and used to good effect.
