"Kiss"? "When I Think of You"? "The Sweetest Taboo"? "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But the Rent"? Great song nonetheless! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

that's my cut! ...my 1st impulse was 2 run up on u and do a rambo ..but i thought about this fur coat ..so i chilled .. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

"That's right. Then I went to the bank and cancelled all those charge cards. I stuck you up for every piece of jewelry I ever bought ya. Yeah, that's right." Men used to LOVE this song when it came out.

That whole part at the end is hilarious. I wonder how many takes he ruined by cracking up? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Doens't he actually say "cornfake" (singular?)? makes it more ghetto! i think this song inspired Bob George.... "get that wig I bought ya....nah nah, the reddish brown one!"

"Kiss"? "When I Think of You"? "The Sweetest Taboo"? "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But the Rent"? Great song nonetheless! Nah..."The Rain" is superior to those songs truly original too....the spoken part at the end was very innovative, for 1986,anyway.

did you guys ever hear the "answer" record to this song? It's some female, responding back to him....she says things like...

I have this album on vinyl
It's a surprisingly mellow album, filled with alot of ballads. The second single was "Curiosity",but that song is nothing to write home about, imo.I don't know why they didn't release the catchy "1-2-1" instead....it's a cool, breezy groove, very similiar to "The Rain".It would have been the perfect follow-up single.

This is like the only R&B project of Russell Simmons that really made an impact.
I like that second single "Curiosity" though.
