well, i like this version better then the album version but all this stuff is too dated and the songs just aren't memorable.

i always found it odd that katherine went on national tv and declared this album better then janet's 1814. i am glad to finally hear it but boy oh boy was she wrong.

Randy's LP is one of the top Jacksons LP released in the late 80's. Only Bad and Rhythm Nation 1842 are better releases.

It's better then Jackie's (89) Be the One, Marlon's (87) Baby Tonight, Rebbie's (88) R U Tuff Enough and LaToya's (88) La Toya.

Only the Jacksons' 2300 Jackson Street and Jermaine's Don't Take it Personal (both 89) can compete.

I never heard any of these cuts by Randy, they didn't get any play here in Philly back then.

biggrin I Remeber this from back in the day...I used to wear out Love We Almost Had, I Can't Wait, Need You, Love Thang and Not Because of Me!!

Randy always had a hand in some the Jackson's sweetest tunes, writing or cowriting stuff like 'Give It Up', 'Time Waits for No One', and 'One More Chance'....

I remember a Billboard magazine review of Randy and the Gypsys --they praised the album, but said it was a shame because both Janet and Michael had stuff out at the same time, so this release would definitely be eclipsed---and it was....
