PULLING UP ONE-DAYSIES: UMe’s Now 25 appears headed for the #1 spot on next week’s HITS Album Sales Chart. The hit singles collection is on target to move between 230-250k so far, though previous Nows seem to build through the weekend, so it could go even higher. The big surprise of the week is Universal Republic singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat, who, as noted previously, had a huge first-day number at iTunes, with the single, “Bubbly,” offered as a free download. The act is also highlighted in iTunes’ new release e-mail, so second-day numbers should also be strong, with an expected first-week total of between 50-60k. Capitol’s Yellowcard is up next with a first-week tally between 40-50k. Other debuts include Cherry Tree/Geffen’s pop-rock swains Rooney (14-16k) and Island’s The Rocket Summer (14-16k). The new High School Musical single for Disney, “What Time Is It?” is blowing out to the tune of 100-125k units, while the Avenged Sevenfold DVD appears headed for 12-15k in first-week sales. | |
