Steely So I've been listening to the last three steely dan albums this week. I got to say it's good stuff, and very original, immaculately performed and well recorded music.
One of the things thats really stood out to me is some of the similarities to prince arrangements and instrumentation, especially the horns, the muted trumpets and sax have almost exactly the same treatment as the 'Rock hard in a funky place' sound. Anyone else know these albums? | |

...(the last 3 studio albums) IMO their material is much more sophisticated that Prince's. Musically and lyrically. tA  Tribal Disorder
