Country Music Suckz

Almost all
country music sounds terrible to me and I think that almost all types of music sounds better. I think it is mostly limited to white people and that's where it belongs.

I have always found the majority of country music to be boring as hell, even more boring than classical music. However, once shit hop took over, it quickly replaced country as being the most boring genre of music ever.

As much as country music bores me, I do have respect for the music as being a genuine form of music with talented musicians and singers, even if it ain't my taste. I can't say the same for shit hop though. I see it as a boring talentless form of bullshit that is made by ignorant non-musicians for a rich white man's profits. I have no respect for it whatsoever.

Really Country and R&B music are pretty similar. At lot of classic tracks have jumped back and fourth from both the Country and R&B charts.

I would listed to Country Music any day than most of this Rap shit on the Radio that we are bombarded with on a daily basis!

Some of it is. I remember "Slow Hand" by The Pointer Sisters being played on R&B, pop, and country radio. A few years later, Conway Twitty remade the song.

My favorite part of a shit hop CD is the blank spaces between each track. Those are absolutely genius. They just aren't long enough.

While I respect the musicians who play country, I'm not a fan. It's weird because I love Johhny Cash and Willie Nelson but I consider them "old country" shrug

I would say true R&B has origins from Jazz, Blues, Country, and Rock and Roll. That's what makes R&B so appealing. It's taking aspects of all the forementioned genres.

ANYONE who does not respect classic country (Hank Williams, Mr. Cash, etc) deserves a quick and painful SLAP IN THE FACE confused

But I have to admit that I don't like modern country very much; but I can hear Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and other similar contemporary artists.

I've always wondered which came first, country or blues? Both sound similar and each genre has the other's influence. When I watch movies like "Roots" and see Fidler playing his fiddle for the master, it sounds like country music to me.

Did the slaves get their blues from the master's country music or did the masters get their country music from the slaves blues? It's one of those "which came first, the chicken or the egg" type questions that I've always wondered about.

Well, in an Interview B.B. King said "Country Music & Blues are Blood Brothers". I believe they are very similar in certain ways...Country music just has those corny ass Violins in the mix. lol

damn right... biggrin

Now I respect anyone's taste, and I know there's no debating taste, but I just wanted to throw these two cents in:

If your talking about modern country...sure it s*cks, big time...I mean, 'little big town', 'sugarland' wtf?

but Real country...Hank, Woody, Willie, lefty...those are (as bishop31 qouted earlier) the brothers of blues. Listen to lightin hopkins, blind willie mctell, woody guthrie and hank williams in 'shuffle' mode on your stereo...and try to tell me where one genre begins and the other one ends.

to me they are 1 and the same, together with jazz they are the primordial soup that gave birth to all other forms of modern music.

Try Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, kd lang. If you hate these artists, I'd be surprised.

Well that's REAL country!
The swill thats being put out is damn near incompetant
they're making songs like Tequila Takes Her Clothes Off and Size Matters
Who's fault fault, i'd Say it's Toby Keiths fault.
The most prominent thing about Country music was specifically the writing.
Cats like John Prine, Willie Nelson , Cash were prominent in writing.
Classics like Angels From Montgomery and etc...
In that says todays country music does indeed suck...
cause it isn't country music, its country PoP...

If you want to hear some of the old school country in todays music
you gotta go towards the indie Alternative Country movement
Cats like Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Wilco, Jeff Finlan, Wheat , Eastmountainsouth etc... Great song writing, music is top notch.
I would say this is more country than country music
and its infinitely better...
The spirit of johnnyy cash and country music liives on in Alternative Country
I am a Rail Road, Track Abandoned

But Size Matters, even though it's a corny song, is a George Strait song, isn't it? He's old school as well.
