Bad Mama Jama was the roller skating jam of the summer that year. Lord I'm old lol Bay Area people might remember Skate Town or Cal Skate.

I remember that like Yesterday too and it makes me feel old too, but in away that kind of music still sounds fresh. Fresher than most things they did back in the 90s.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

That instrumental intro made me think it was Stevie too until the voice came out. The first time I heard it I was like "alright, Stevie..." then this voice came in and I was like confused at the end I was like headbang

Been my jam since. nod

Yeah, musically it does sound like it could be a Stevie song. Glad I'm not the only who thought so. giggle

He was just on Fox 2 News - Weekend (Detroit) performing this song yesterday morning (along with other local acts).

We had a Legends boat cruise last night with all those classic "Motown" acts. Sadly, I didn't go.

He sounded amazing on that show - and with no backup singers.

Carl did this joint called " I aint gonna tell anybody about you" back in 76 and a year before he did Everlasting Love.

Didn't know that either. I need to find those two songs. Thanks. smile

He also did a remake of "Baby, I Need Your Loving" in either late 1982 or early 1983. I would have to pull my 45 to tell you for sure.
