The Audience, Paligap, and Alexa De Paris .. Thank you 3 very much for your contributions to this forum. There are many posters on here that have recommended some awesome music and artists. These 3 however are the ones whose recommendations have helped enrich me culturally and get poorer financially due to recent musical purchases! Thanks to Alexa De Paris I decided to drop some good money on a Ella Fitzgerald Box set and could not be happier. The Audience has recommended Lewis Taylor and Soullive. I just dropped a grip of money on Itunes on these artist cause I lacked the patience to wait till I meet T.A. at an org meetup for their discs. Paligap has mad Jazz and Hip Hop knowledge and 90% of the stuff he recommended I've liked a lot. There are others here and there that have recommended great stuff, but in the past 3 months my collection of music (mp3's, Records, cd's) has grown by about 50 cause of the recommendations of these fellows. Thanks a lot. Its greatly appreciated. Thanks also to other cats in this forum, keep making the mad recommendations. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

wow, Thanks, and I apologize for being a bad influence on the finances I must admit, though, I'm not as knowledgeable on the Hip-Hop side o' things as I'd like -- Shoot, I learn from a lot from kats like namepeace, Cinnie, and many others on here -- actually, I learn a lot from most o' the folks here on this forum, be it Soul, Funk, Pop, Progressive, Electro, Fusion, Hop, and beyond...and of course, for Jazz and Rock history, tA is the resident Kat... ... I must admit, though, I'm not as knowledgeable on the Hip-Hop side o' things as I'd like -- You already have huge knowledge of music so that's what matters. If you know a lot about music, then you already know all you need to know about shit hop....which is....the artists that originally made the songs that they sampled. Andy is a four letter word. | |

Thanks KT, glad you enjoyed the suggestions.
I don't consider myself an expert on anything. Maybe because i've been on the planet a little longer than many here, i've had the advantage of hearing a great deal of music through a few decades while it was actually happening. Luckily, a few things I know a little bit about seem to come up here occasionally. There are all kinds of folks that contribute cool musical info here. You just have to be open to it. But this is the most important thing to remember KT. If it gets to the point where you're seeing a possible bankruptcy in your future...it's paligap's fault. There was a thread where we were all talking about Hendrix's status as a songwriter, and 'Electric Ladyland' came up..Psyko shot me Lewis's version of it...and I was just Lost In The Grip after that, !! I had to spread the word....Like you just said, everyone here contributes if you're open to it.... ...
