PET SHOP BOYS-help me out

I'm a fan of Pet Shop Boys, but I'm mostly a "singles" fan of the group. I've got the Discography CD, their 1st CD, and the one with the orange cover(i forgot the name). And I did get the latest CD, "Fundamental" I think it's called? (I only listened to it once) Can anyone out there recommend any other ones to pick up?

the first ones are totally great, you can't really go wrong there

please
actually
introspective

but personall, i think their best album is "behaviour" it's got a
little bit of everything but it's cohesive, mature and a bit more
organic. it's pretty much a timeless classic effort.

They are all good! I would highly recomend buying the remastered verisons of all those early albums (the best being for "Very", which is the orange lego album you already have). They are a little more expensive and sort of rare (you'll have to go import or Ebay...you'd be very lucky to find them in a used record store) but worth it for the CD of bonus material (which certaintly doesn't sound like typical bonus material). Their b-sides are so great (this is being discussed in another Pet Shop Boys thread).

For bare bones albums, "Actually" is very strong, so is "Behaviour". I personally like "Bilingual" which sounds very different from anything they did before. Very emotional and at times sounds very upbeat (in mood, not just sound!).

Alternative. It gives you a scope of how they're sound has evolved from the 80's to the 90's. Its a bit heavy but invest the time and you will be well rewarded plus it gives you timeline of what the PSB were doing during each album release.

We love the PSB's!

OK so you have Please and Very and Fundamental...

I'd say get next

Actually
Behaviour

then

Nightlife
Introspective

then

Bilingual
Release

And if you want to Dance, any of their Disco Albums are fun.

You know they do have POPART which is their GH up to Fundamental. Most of their albums come with a bonus disc of B-sides and alt versions of the songs, so those are good to get.
