GUESS WHAT THE UPS MAN LEFT FOR ME TODAY?!! Its k.d. lang





It is an amazing compilation of her early country/cowpunk stuff that she did while on Sire tombstone records.
They cleaned up the sound and vocals a lot though I would say its short of remastered.

So square dance ya'll.

interesting. i first saw k.d. with Roy Orbison in the "crying" video. love that song.

though never a big fan, i saw her 3 years ago at the Hollywood Bowl because Rufus Wainwright opened, and I was blown away but her show. great entertainer.

Well her "country" stuff was pretty much ignored by Nashville. Which is a shame.

Cause really you hear a young woman who can sing the shit out of stuff, and has a band that can easily go from polka to hillbilly and back to country standard.


When she went AC she lost the friskiness and the can do attitude.

I just played her dvd compilation I've got for the first time in ages, and her early voice is so great live, you forget how much of a cowgirl she was.
