What are your all time favorite NON Prince songs?

Songs that instantly come to mind:

*To Be Real - Cheryl Lynn
*Forget Me Nots - Patrice Russian
*Knock On Wood - The Disco Version with the acid trails in the video (Can't remember the woman's name)
*She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
*How Soon is Now-The Smiths (One of the best songs ever!)
*Atomic Dog - George Clinton & Crew

It doesn't matter how many times I hear these songs I'm always as excited as the first time I heard them.

cry "The Tracks Of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson worship

Not many songs match this sort of standard both musically(sweeet!) AND lyrically (poignant & poetic). Of course, Smokey sings it beautifully 2, which always helps!

U'd need 2 b made of stone not 2 find it touching; even a ballad of the highest calibre (eg.adore) is not as deeply emotionally affecting 2 me.

no no no! Please don't bother trying 2 tell me u think it's "cheesy"; i've heard it all be4 many times down the years. I'm as entitled 2 my opinion as the next man/woman.
