Then it led me to watch videos for several other old school tunes! Thanks! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

Saturday morning is the day that we had to chores in my home, my brother, sister and i was told to go do the laundry but i refused because i didn't want to miss Rick James on Soul Train.. So my Mom's said ok ...you don't want to do the laundry ..Don't you dare turn on that TV... and you know i did because i wasn't missing this performance and after he sung Ghetto Life, she walked in and she whipped my Ass ( I was running around that house in my AquaMan underoos )

He sure was... And I wouldn't change a thing about that day (except remembering to turn the TV off after his performance) [Edited 7/17/07 5:03am]

Good Funk is like good medicine. Like George says,it can not only sooth but it can remove as well. Just put your hands on the speaker. I Don't Want My Funk Stepped On.

I remember in the spring of 81 when this song came out....this was THE JAM! It was clear that 1981 was gonna be Rick's year. When the album dropped, folks went nuts.In my area, everyone was driving around, blasting these songs. Our local R&B station (KSOL) played the entire album when it was first released and the next day, everyone was calling in,requesting to hear "Super Freak".That's one of those songs that you could tell was gonna be a major hit.You could feel it.The response was amazing.Rick was on fire back then!

Okay, it is probably a sott, but the camera work is dull and it is a lipsync.
I looooove RJ live, so this is probably a bit too stale compared to what is prob one of my favest RJ tunes eva. The 20th anniversary edition of Street Songs has got a second live disc and one there is the version I love, love, love. Go try it.
