Compare and Contrast:Robin Thicke to George Michael?

"Careless Whisper"
"I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" (with Aretha Franklin)
(Aretha Franklin)
I Want Your Sex"
"Faith"
"Father Figure"
"One More Try"
"Kissing a Fool"

George Michael was black hot and white hot just like Robin Thicke?

HMMMM.....

George Michael has a much, much better voice. especially live. i cringe every time i hear Robin trying to choke out that falsetto in a live performance.

Both have made some fantastic albums.
Both have a #1 R&B album and song.

Obviously, George has been doing this much longer than Thicke.

clapping Good analogy. The Accord is a great, reliable car. nod

Likewise, Thicke is a worthwhile, talented artist even though he isn't a superstar like George.

I think Justin timberlake is the George michael of the 00s

George is a pop artist who tries to sing soul music, just like Timberlake.

But I would said that George Michael has a better voice.

That's true, but musically, Timberlake music is pretty much just like George Michael. I really can see George Michael singing most of Justin Timberlake stuff.

I don't consider George Michael as a soul artist, and his music has never been straight soul.

Robin is a soul artist (or he tries to be), and his music is straight soul/r&b.

George Michael voice is a million times better than timberfake!

I never said George Michael sounds like Timberlake, I said his music sounds a lot like Timberlake. This is the same kind of music.

I can see what you're saying, but I think there's a big difference. George crossed over in the legitimate sense. While he isn't a "straight soul" artist, Justin is just as "R&B" as anyone else out now. I don't see how he somehow doesn't qualify but people like Beyoncé and Rihanna do.

George Michael is one of the best singers ever...who happened to write some good (borderline great) songs...

Robin Thicke's voice is weak, IMHO. I don't know too much about him, but one of his songs is constantly on the radio...Does that make it good? Or are ya'll being subjected to it for long enough to make you think that it's good?

Timberlake is talented...he's a good writer (not great), decent dancer and a middle of the road singer.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Listen to one of his albums (there are 2) and form your own opinion. I've liked "Lost Without U" since the album dropped in October and I don't listen to the radio. I also think there are some much better songs on the record (and a few that didn't make it).

krayzie, FutureSex/LoveSounds is closer to Ginuwine than George Michael (for obvious reasons) IMO. I don't get that comparison at all.

American Pop Music produced at this moment is Shit-hop influence watered down RnB

GM would make the album 100 times better. Listen to Freek! and then lister to FutureSex/LoveSounds.

This is the same type of music, pop/rnb music...

George Michael is some how some way the first artist to sound like that. That's why I compare Timbelarke and GM.

I see a lot of similarities between Justin and George Michael, they are in the same category.

What same category? Maybe there is a little similarities when it comes to the look but musically they are totally different , I can't imgaine GM sings a song like SexyBack is which the worst song I have heard in a while...

GM is a legend and in a completely different category, Vocally he is one of the Greatest ever, Timberlake cannot see him.

Oh yes, this is the same style, same type of music. Pop/r&b music.

Goerge Michael just like Timberlake loves singing r&b stuff.

Timberlake just like GM crossovers both style and sing the same type of music.

Sorry to say that you sound like a GM hardcore fan, oh yes GM is talented, but to call him a legend is ridiculous. GM is not IMO one of the grestest singer ever, no way... lol:

LOL...I'm not a hardcore GM fan,I'm really not, I dig some of his songs but to say he is not of the greatest singers is silly, GM is one of the greatest male vocalists , He has an insane beauitful voice and I don't have to be a fan to realize that, Maybe his impact is not heavy as other artists but definitely he is a great singer, you just cannot deny that.

Or maybe we don't have the same standard when it comes to singers.

When I think of great singers, GM never comes to my mind. He's very good, but nothing great or good enough to be labeled as one of the greatest ever.

Well you see, George Michael has this lovely soulful velvety voice.

Robin Thicke sounds like my cat being thrown over a hedge.
