Songs That Should Be Retired

I think I made a thread about this topic a while ago, but it deserves a rehash. What song, in your opinion, should be put into an unlockable vault, never to see the light of day again? I originally nominated EWF's "September," and now I have another one to add...EWF's live version of "Reasons." Now, before you stone me, I only say "live" should be retired so that the album version can get some shine (I really like listening to a full band play the bridge.)

So what songs do you think should go? Remember, they don't have to be bad songs, they can be classics.

Blues Traveler - 'Runaround'
Edwin McCain - 'I'll Be'
Goo Goo Dolls - 'Iris'...song drives me nuts...overplayed to death!

"Let Love Rule"? Really? I never hear that song.

I'd also choose "Interstate Love Song" over "Plush" by STP.

Including "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King?

But seriously, a lot of people were getting some mileage off of the keyboard riff from "What A Fool Believes" (sings) "Why don't we Steal Away? Why don't we steeeeallll aaaaway!"

And at midnight on New Years Eve until doomsday every band (I've been there I know.) will play "Celebration" by Kool And The Gang."

Every gig will include "Brick House" and "I Will Survive."

Imagine is definitely the all time most overperformed song. Singing it has become a cheap and lazy way for singers to demonstrate their compassion for the world. "Look how caring I am". No, look how unimaginative you are. Ironic given the title.

btw, what's up with WDC being there?

That Sarah McLachlan song needed to be retired after it's first spin on radio. lol

Any song by Elvis. The world is nuts! They won't let the man rest in peace. Too many Elvis impersonators and too many song collections out there. How many box sets can you possibly own of the same songs. GEEZ! disbelief
