Don't like John Mayer's music. It doesn't sound black to me (Especialy since he sings in English).

OK, you're officially the only person in the world who managed to escape hearing both "No Such Thing" and "Daughters." Impressive. His voice is an acquired taste, but he's certainly talented (specifically on guitar). "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

John Mayer's early albums established him as something of a teen heart throb. The fact that they sold so well earned him the juice to release... ...Try! - John Mayer Trio He surrounded himself with Steve Jordan (drums) and Pino Palladino (bass) (2 "musicians" with impeccable credentials) to let folks know that his guitar was not merely a stage prop. The new album Continuum contains a bit of both "Mayers". It even includes a cover from one of your favorite "legendary" artists - Jimi Hendrix. You've obviously heard something that appealed to you. Bottom line, let your own ears and musical tastes be the judge. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I really want to like John Mayer, but for some strange reason, I just can't appreciate him.
Well.... I guess it's because I wish people like Johnny Lang would get more "popular" acclaim. Yeah.. John is good, but there is just something about him that's contrived.. Maybe not.

He's just one of these artist I know I should really appreciate because it's obvious he's very talented. But there is something about him with which I don't "connect," and I don't know why.

i find it interesting that there is so much "hate" for an artist that is working what he has going for him (ie, youth, looks and can play and write music).
i wonder what these folks would think of this artist when he first came out: ps...i don't mean to be crunchy but i am soo happy to have evolved during a time that i could appreciate tracy chapman, aimee mann, kate bush, ttd, ewf, black crows, michael mcdonald, sosband, sugercubes, the sundays, the cure and fluff pop like "five star" and never felt the holier then though "miss crabtree" phenom that so many up in this camp feel compelled to display. if it feels good to me...then thats all that matters. Space for sale...

Mayer needs a little Jagger The Dagger. Mayer is a dime a dozen. I hope he cut Curtis Mayfield's family a check. You asked if his CDS are any good. If you like easy listening blues music, and poor story telling then Mayer is the perfect artist for you. Ever heard of Robert Cray? sosgemini said: i find it interesting that there is so much "hate" for an artist that is working what he has going for him (ie, youth, looks and can play and write music).
