Which genre do you hate with a passion? There's a type of music I can't stand. As yet, it doesn't have a name, so let's just call it Shitty Stadium Vibes.
"Sit Down" - James "Laid" - James "A Ship Called Dignity" - Deacon Blue ""Real Gone Kid" - Deacon Blue "Don't Go" - Hothouse Flowers "Whole of The Moon" - The Waterboys Anything by the New Radicals what about u [Edited 7/9/07 3:43am]

"Smooth jazz" or "soft rock" gets my vote.
I'm also not a big fan of improvisational/free-form jazz. I can appreciate the skill and talent that goes into it, but screeching horns can really set my nerves on fire after a minute or so.

watered down mainstream radiopop/RnB light.
Average stuff you'll hear on the radio that's there just to be commercial and appeal the generate mass but is totally soulless and dead. /peace Manki

Is Akon his own genre? Because yeah, that one then.
And whatever groups like The Pussy Cat Dolls and The Black Eyed Peas are. So basically generic top-40 r&b and rap. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

i used to feel the same way, mainly because i was raised by a hippie mom who hated country music with a PASSION; but, aw man, you haven't lived until you've really appreciated johnny cash's music. i don't really consider him "country" per se, but getting into his music and reading his autobiography really expanded my mind...in a really really really valuable way.
