lol! Joe Elliott's comments on Rolling Stone Magazine

lead singer of Def Leppard Joe Elliot has this to say about Rolling Stone Magazine and i totally agree smile

"Rolling Stone and some of the others are really going to be stumped as to whom to put on the cover in a few years because Dylan's going to be dead, McCartney is going to be dead, The Stones are going to be dead. Is anybody going to step up to the plate in their eyes that they can now turn into the icon?"

When KISS reunited and launched the Reunion Tour in 1995 they were the only magazine who didn't have them on the cover of their magazine. Hell, Forbes even had a cover story on KISS. Not Rolling Stone, though. I suppose they could reason that KISS doesn't possess the musical integrity that they prefer to write about, yet that wouldn't explain putting The Spice Girls or Britny Spears on the cover.

They almost completely ignored the entire hair band scene/movement during the 80's. As far as I can remember, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and GNR were the only bands who received cover stories. If I am correct, the Motley Crue story was titled, "It's Loud, It's Ugly, It Won't Go Away."

Their cover story this month is the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock..... who the fuck cares.

I just think its funny that Joe Elliott is calling a magazine a dinosaur. How'd that last album of classic rock covers sell, there, Joey?

I think the difference there is that Joe Elliot doesn't come off as self-righteous and "important".

Rolling Stone DOES think it's vitally important, yet it's a worthless piece of shit rag, and has been for years.
