Well, they can't get paid to sell records anymore because nobody's buying. It's a little funny, actually. We get down on pop stars for taking money that we would never dream about walking away from. At the same time, we steal the product they should be making money off of and find reasons to justify why we're entitled to the free music but they're not entitled to make profits.

the article says Fergie is the first (wow, what a trailblazer).
so what are the examples of Prince and Paul doing this? "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

In a next future, all the people who shitted constantly on major labels will regret the good old days, when artists used to sell millions of CDs without putting ads in their songs.

so what are the examples of Prince and Paul doing this? i don't know. i was wondering about that too. the first time he ever mentioned a brand in a song was imo "Evian" in "Blue Light". after that there have been several mentions of products in his songs but i can't really think of any. i think "Fritos" in "The Good Life" remix "Crystal" (or whatever that shit is called) in "Illusion Coma Pimp & Circumstance" i'm sure there's plenty more and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
