Yeah, but "Timbaland" is too cocky for his own good. Other than that, there is no reason to hate the guy. No one is even saying that you shouldn't appreciate your own work. It's just that this guy goes a little overboard sometimes.

Timbaland preparing to say goodbye to music

By ANI
Sunday July 1, 10:32 AM

Washington, July 1 (ANI): Music producer Timbaland has revealed that he's about to say goodbye to music because he's "too innovative for the music world."

The hip hop star claims that he has grown disenchanted with music and so is preparing for retirement as soon as he finds a suitable protege to pass his genius on to.

"I don't need to do anything for money. I'm just glad to have a job. But music is boring right now. I'm too innovative for the world," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

Timbaland added that though nobody would be able to match his stature, he would try to teach some of his sounds to up-and-coming producers.

"I've been doing it so long, I'm about to throw in the towel. I'm about to de-crown myself and pass it over to one of the up-and-coming producers under me. They won't be able to be me - there's only one Timbaland - but there's a certain sound that I try to teach," he added. (ANI)

If music is boring MAKE IT INTERESTING!

stop charging $250,000 for a beat and work with some talented artists in hip hop such as common, canibus, k os and pharoah monch insead of talentless idiots

Timbaland's album has great production but nothing is special about the sonics or the arrangements. It's all simple loops; original loops yes but no changes etc.

Listen, take it from someone who loves "SOME" of the guy's work! He can be a big cunt at times when there aren't even times that call for it. Sure, throw "Chaos & Disorder" and "Crystal Ball" (Hell, I don't even know about the latter. Besides the way he "CARELESSLY" handled the release, there ain't all that much bad that I can say about it), but bump that "Graffiti Bridge". Minus the collaborations, almost all of "PRINCE'S SONGS" where there ain't a sight of collaborations are instant classics. The thing about "Timbaland" is he can produce for other people. However, for himself: "FISSION MAILED!!!" For him to have this type of attitude already when has only spent eleven years, "COMMERCIALLY", in the game, hardly gives him a right to act the way that he does. Name me one "CLASSIC ALBUM" that he has wholly produced. Name me something that has changed the way "ALL" shall look at him from then on. There are still people that don't respect this man and rightfully so. He doesn't even use an instrument that requires much skill, but, either way, I can't lie when I say that I love some of his work because he does make good, infectious music. But, that is only when it ain't his own....."POINT BLANK!!!"

Hey, I resent that! "Nelly Furtado" isn't talentless. She is beautiful and full of "GLOW"!!! She ain't really "LOOSE", though! lol I don't know. I guess she was kind of forced in that direction by her rep, but, sometimes, she doesn't seem genuinely comfortable where she is at. She's a talented woman and can do good/great things with or without "Timbaland" ("ESPECIALLY WITHOUT!!!"). I've been kind of upset with her, though. I hear that she may/might be getting married, which would only force me to move her down my list and painfully so. sad I had to do the same with "Christina Milian" and "Salma Hayek". Well, there's always "Roselyn Sanchez"....right? cry

A little humility would be nice. If anthing, he has had a nice run as a producer for several artists, but you can make the argument he was the big fish in the small pond (musically speaking-decent producer that has dominated an era of soulless, derivative crap with his own brand of souless, derivative crap).

Like someone said before, if Music is boring than make it INTERESTING! Exactly, and if you are a good producer than you can do that. But lets give him that title of "Producer" so quick. If said many times there is a big difference in a Producer and a Beatmaker. ARIF MARDIN was a producer, why? well lets take a small look at his track record, Did producing for The Bee Gees,Chaka Khan,Aretha Franklin,Hall and Oates and Norah Jones. Quite a varied bunch, and if you listen to the records he produced for them you would never say ARIF did this, without looking at the damn liner notes, and thats what makes a producer a PRODUCER. As catchy as some of the beats Timbaland may have created, borrowed or stole, thats a big difference than the work of a Producer and bringing out someones inner talents and Vision. Lets be honest as great as Nelly Furtado is that LOOSE record could have been done by any POP female, hell JEWEL's dance record was 10times better, but didnt sell like that simply because it was Timbalands name that sold the Nelly record, not anything else. It was a wave he was riding and now its faded, but PRODUCERS shouldnt be part of "waves", beatmakers are part of waves.
