Timbaland to retire from the music industry??? got this from another board.....
ENTERTAINMENT NEWS Timbaland preparing to say goodbye to music By ANI Sunday July 1, 10:32 AM Washington, July 1 (ANI): Music producer Timbaland has revealed that he's about to say goodbye to music because he's "too innovative for the music world." The hip hop star claims that he has grown disenchanted with music and so is preparing for retirement as soon as he finds a suitable protege to pass his genius on to. "I don't need to do anything for money. I'm just glad to have a job. But music is boring right now. I'm too innovative for the world," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. Timbaland added that though nobody would be able to match his stature, he would try to teach some of his sounds to up-and-coming producers. "I've been doing it so long, I'm about to throw in the towel. I'm about to de-crown myself and pass it over to one of the up-and-coming producers under me. They won't be able to be me - there's only one Timbaland - but there's a certain sound that I try to teach," he added. (ANI) "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Did she even work with him on her last album? She was working with the Neptunes and Rich Harrison. I even remember her saying something about working with other producers, and then her and Tim coming back together. I miss them http://prince.org/msg/100/263154?&pg=2

Although, I hate his current attitude with a passion, "Are You That Somebody" and "Pony" are pretty innovative when/if you go on using the actul meaning of innovation for the music industry. I mean, at a time when audio-correlation was turning into the big deal, and it was something for the most part that he originated by using eccentrically outer-space-like and jungle-boogie-ish rhythms to "R&B" and "Rap/Hip-Hop"; people were, in fact, jocking his style. That is something that sort-of made him push the limits and release something like "Are You That Somebody" to counter-act towards the beatbiters, so to speak, by using shit like "Aaliyah's Baby Coos" and mixing that up with a chaotic type of ambience with jungle-ATMospheric sounds and the periperal "White Noise/Short Snare". You know. Shit like that! I don't even think I understad that I just put down on this post, but I know that the guy has some kind of nerve to even think that he is the best at producing when he clearly isn't. I mean, the guy ain't even reached legendary status in my book. He'd better get his head out of his ass before reality snaps. "AND OH", reality with snap like a bitch. He used to be so humble, especially at those times where he was backed-up against the wall as an underdog. His sound was something to be reached. It was something that everone wanted to put on their "tracks" because it could "weave" every element together like "fusion". Pardon me, if I sound nuts, but, so does he. You see, he can give every other artist a standard element of his sound so that they can say that have a touch of "Timbaland" here and there, but, what I notice is that, the best beats usually go to his friends (You know. "Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott", "Aaliyah", and formerly, "Ginuwine"), but he couldn't give himself or any other artist the love that he shows/showed for them because his own albums, including the ones where he teams up with "Magoo", "SUCK ASS"!!!! I mean, this is all with the exceptions of "Total" on tracks like "Trippin'" and "What About Us", but that's all that I can remember. You see, I think "Aaliyah's Death" still sort-of haunts him to this day because he covers it all up by being as pretentious as he can be. I know it sounds crazy, but give the guy some time. When he comes back from his "SUPPOSED" retirement (Which is really and only should be addressed as a hiatus, although I doubt either will actually happem anytime soon), someone will have grabbed him by the tail and slapped his "Piglet-Lookin', Winnie The Pooh Bear Physique-Havin'" ass straight and "BEAT" him at his own game, or at least challenge him. I hope that happens because I can't stand to see him acting in this manner. He acts like his name should be loose ! loose ! [Edited 7/3/07 20:18pm]

[Edited 7/3/07 20:18pm] Actually you explained it quite well and I agree with you and understand. Perhaps its my age. I like his songs for the moment, in real time, but once the mood has passed, about 1 minute after it ends, if I never hear the song ever again in my life i'm quite fine. [Edited 7/3/07 20:23pm]

Timberland is full of himself and he's not a f**king genius, he copys everyone from Prince to Micheal Jackson. I'm glad he's over the music business, so he can go and sit on a toilet somewhere and give birth to more of his sorry loads of crap, he thinks is innovative music!
