It's too late now. If they were to collaborate, the early 90s had to be that time. Now it would be 2 aging pop stars trying to make it big again. No sense in doing so. Janet needs to leech onto some younger blood.

Ciara

Didn't Ciara ditch Janet as her idol or something? I remember reading this somewhere.

Anyways Ciara is done, Rhianna is the new "it" chick in r&b. If only Janet had a track like Umbrella...

I remember reading about that too, didn't she also say something about how michael is better than her and copied him since?

“I grew up loving and watching Janet,
but because of all the comparisons to her,
I don’t want to emulate anything she’s done.
If anything, I’d love to have the same amount of success.
But I don’t want to be like her - I wanna be my own.”

When Ciara first came out, she was ALL about Janet. I remember seeing a pic of her wearing a shirt with Janet's pic from the "Control" album to some party or award show. I don't know what happened now though, these days she has changed her tune and now says that Michael is her fave artist.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

she should ditch JD,Jam and Lewis and make a fresh,NEW start....try some new beats, for a change! Hell,do a rock album.....anything but a predictable R&B album with predictable producers.

That's not predictable enough for Janet. Won't happen.

At the very least, she should resist the urge to make another sex album.Broaden her lyrical perspective!

I've read this a forum i go to. I still can't get the source of this info.

*first month and half has basically them in conference mode

*Janet was very vocal in telling everybody what she wanted and the sound she wanted. she said she wanted a "darker sound" for the album and she wasnt interested in making anything close to what was on the radio today....

*some points JD and Janet seemed to be bumping heads and JD would say one thing and Janet would say another

*they've recorded 6 songs (one titled "Can You Hear Me Now") and were in post production for 2 songs one which was submitted by Polow Da Don and the other by JD, L.A. Reid and Ne-Yo called "Seduction ( What U Do)"
He said J and L.A. brought up the idea of naming the album "Forever Janet" but wasnt sure if it was final

* they were lined up to start working with JD all of the upcoming week and he's been with him mixing his instrumentals along with another engineer who came with Jermaine. the songs produced so far were midtempo and one resembled "That's The Way Love Goes" and he believes it has a sample of the song in it's chorus. The other beat he said was kinda bland and boring and only and deep low toned like moaning sound.....

Sounds like some good news (darker sound, not mimicking radio, bumping heads with JD) and some bad ("Forever Janet"...Another terrible self indulgent title).
