There's a lot more mentioned in the song than that, actually. The whole verse when the drums enter is where it all is. "Here's to my sweet satan. The one who makes me sad whose power is in satan. He will give you 666. so follow him with worship, bring me yourself, my sad satan." On the chorus where Plant sings "and it makes me wonder" when this is played in reverse, it clearly says "i will sing because I live with satan." Also Zeppelin actually instructs u at the end of the song, when the words "and she's buying a stairway to heaven" is sung, when THAT'S played in reverse, it says to play this song backwards. But they tell u "you know, sometimes words, they have two meanings." Yeah, backwards and forwards. What's spooky as hell with this song, is that when it's played in reverse, the music actually sounds more "natural" than it does played foward.

Page was most definately involved. I think this was HIS whole concept. A "gift" to satan. His lullaby, his hymm, so to speak, to satan. Page was knee deep into Crowley, who spoke all time of recording, listening and even watching movies in reverse. Crowley spoke that there was magic in that act. That their was hidden things there. And that is indeed true. But yeah, Stairway was definately Page's baby. He took a serious amount of time to get all of those backward masks to work. But that's why none of those lyrics make a lick of sense. Spring for the may queen? That's not what the song is about at all.
