The disc of blues jam outtakes is golden. It also comes with photocopies of all of Tom Dowd's handwritten track sheets with EQ settings for every track and complete notes.

As for the Stevie Wonder boxed set, I was a little upset by that one. It didn't contain any new material nor did it contain any rare outtakes. That's what I usually enjoy most about the boxed sets.

And it doesn't have "Front Line," so it can't even completely replace Musiquarium. Then they seriously waffled on their stance on the '70s albums. All but one track from Innervisions is present (they left out "Jesus Children of America" ). Everyone should have that album already, so why not make room for other songs? It's a nice set, but it's really only useful for brand new Stevie fans... and it'll leave them wanting more.

I know, it was released on the 1977 anthology called Looking Back which I do own, but it was labeled as an unreleased song on that anthology. Anyway, I don't think Stevie will ever put out any rarities or unreleased cuts to the public. He's one of the few artists that owns his own masters, but there was once a rumor that Stevie once said that there are millions of tracks that are still in the vaults and they are yet to be released. Apparently, he asked in his will that he would like his vault music to be destroyed when he dies. So, I wouldn't hold my breath to hear any outtakes from Stevie anytime soon.

You all need to just be thankful for what you have! I mean, yeah there is small minority of stuff I would have wanted to hear on the boxset that wasn't on there like Feeding Off The Love Of The Land from Jungle Fever, but I still think At The Close Of The Century is the best compilation that covers the evolution and vulnerablity of his career quite well. It's good to listen to it when you just want the whole story.
