It's weird.... I really liked her during No Doubt and her first solo album. But it's like the minute she dropped the second one, she really started to annoy the hell out of me. Could be because it's too much of the same thing, and her gaudy teenage girl image and sensibility is getting old when it comes from a 40 year old woman.

But see, I kinda LIKE that about her. We're the same age, so I love all of her old stuff from when she was young. I don't find her image looks very teenage (her music yes, but not her visual image). When I think teenage I think more Lilly Allen. But there's a part of me too that still flitty flights around interested in all that is cutting edge style wise (although I have my sober grown up moments too), so I can completely relate to why it's totally acceptable for a near 40 year old woman to bounce all over the place in t-shirts skinny jeans, low slung pants, & sneakers (or killer heels if need be). As long as my guts not sticking out and I don't have a formal business actvities to take care of, I'll wear all kinds of stuff that a lot of people wouldn't expect from someone my age lol

Name two.

I did

Indeed.

I have listened to this album only recently and it only confirmed my suspicion that Stefani's fame is largely due to her image. Take this song "4 in the morning": it sounds like something made on a cheap computer synth station, but she looks great in the video so it's not totally repulsive when on TV.

The same goes for "Wind it up" & that god-aweful "Sweet Escape"

The only song that seemed OKAY to me was "Wonderful Life"

Personally, I think that she was at her best with "Cool": both the song and the video were really nice.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.
