Warning: You will get a whole mess of mo fos who refuse to pick one of each.
Female: Deniece Williams Male: Donny Hathaway I have a tough time choosing between Dolly Parton and Deniece. Dolly's got a stronger set of songs (that much is not debatable for me), but today I feel like I'd give the slight edge to Deniece.

Another candidate. I am so in love with her voice, especially on... Absolute Torch and Twang I lost interest in her new music some years back, but up through Ingenue she was flawless. http://www.youtube.com/wa...4ecanqQazk Trail of Broken Hearts - the first time I heard that, I just about fell over in amazement. Beautiful and aching.

Uh.. "beautiful" is a strange term when coming to male voices. I never thought of it in those terms when coming to a male vocalist. Female, yeah. Minnie was the first to come to my brain. And then Denise. Although neither of them are my favorite female vocalists. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

These two rate very high in my book.
...Little Jimmy Scott Smooth as silk. ...Ella Fitzgerald (love Dizzy's expression) Her voice never really roughed up as she aged. Still sounded like a young girl in her later years. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I don't think it's weird to describe a male voice as beautiful. Maybe it's because I'm a woman and a male voice affects me in a different way than it affects you. Luther Vandross's voice, to take an example, is what I call beautiful. It send chills down my spine and makes me feel like I'm listening to an angel... My vote for best female voice goes to: Whitney Houston. Male: Hard to decide but Luther is one of the most soulful. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nat King Cole.

I know it is sad and quite stupid of me, but every time this name is brought up now, all that I can think about is that skit about the hypothetics of whether or not misogony had began way before the times of "Rap/Hip-Hop"! "Rub it all over your breast and your vaginaaaah! Yes, yes! I'm horny, that looks good to meeeeeh! Peace Ya punk bitches! Come back next year so I could put a little egg nog on your face! *Raspberries & Gestures*" I miss that show. [Edited 6/27/07 3:08am]
