For those of ya that have not heard of The Knife; a Swedish brother and sister making a blend between the soundtrack of Twin Peaks, Björk and The Eurtyhmics circa 1983.

Amazing. I love when people are aloof, mysterious and use so-called cold electronica and STILL know how to warm you all over.

That's pretty cool.

I heard late last year that Karin was supposed to be cutting a solo LP as well.

Actually, just last night MTV2 aired live footage of multiple songs from the upcoming Silent Shout special edition on the show Subterranean. It was a nice surprise.

Romeoblu

Chromeo's Fancy Footwork.

Album of the Decade.

Also Amy Winehouse's Back To Black and from last year Outkast's idlewild, Muse Black Holes and Revelations and The Razorlight album.

Also Arcade Fire's Neon Bible is mostly fantastic but does contain a couple of songs I really don't like and the Kings of Leon album is pretty damn good but Only ever listen to that in the car, great road album.

Also Planet Earth is blowing me away.

Maybe I'll peep Subterranean sometimes. My attention span is so low when it comes to watching music video programs on TV. Christopher put me up on that program, too, but I've just come to expect MTV or whatever not to play COOL videos, y'know?

I used to get this onDemand channel called "HavocTV" for a limited time in '06 and they played a lot of good indie videos that made you want to watch over and over, but it got pulled. It was the only channel EVER that played The Presets' "Are You The One?" -- anybody playing anything Presets get points in my book -- Morningwood's "Jetsetter," Robocop Kraus "You Don't Have To Shout," The Knife, Annie, Mylo, stuff I list in the WhatAreYouPlayingNow threads, etc. lol

It was like mainstream TV finally caught up. You know what I mean? Like they had their ear to the street and actually knew the Business. It was like an updated MTV-type-thing for the '00s generation and it wasn't on some Bullshit. It was like folks KNEW what people my age were really into. I actually MISS that.

I don't know why that onDemand channel got nixed [maybe it all was an experiment], but it kinda felt like how people my age used to watch MTV back in '83 or something -- It just felt like, "damn, what is this?" LOL. I was loving every minute of some damn HavocTV.

MusicChoice has its moments sometimes, though. Like they'll throw on Kudu's "Hey 50" and you'll be like, "uhhh, who is doing the programming? Some DJ from Brooklyn? How do they know about this?!" lol

Subterranean is the only time I watch any of the Viacom channels for more than five minutes. I've seen Morningwood videos on there. Also stiff like Klaxons, CSS, LCD Soundsystem, !!!, etc. There is an archive of what was shown on past shows here: http://www.altmusictv.com/sub/ But it hasn't been updated since February.

I used to listen to the Music Choice dance channel a lot, but not so much anymore. And occasionally I'll check the on demand channels to see if any cool videos have been added there, but that's rare.

Thanks for that link.

MusicChoice was really cool for me between spring '05 to mid '06. I used to keep it on just to see what they were going to play and get tips. Basically I would keep it on Retro-Active and Electronica and flip back and forth. Lately, I've kinda been into my own thing and don't really go to MC as much as I used to. Pretty much fell out of watching it. The "Electronica" channel has always been better than the "Dance" channel, imo. I dunno, The MC Dance station always tends to be a little too handbaggy for me.

BTW, do you ever watch New York Noise on NYC public access? They had a episode were they interviewed the folks from DFA and in-between they played videos from the YYYs, TVontheRadio, lots of local NY stuff.
