Bit late I am, but I saw another thread pertaining to Chic. A lot of roads down memory lane, Too deep in the crate to look. One of the many things Niles did that I enjoyed, was their arrangements. The strings were huge, and when the band got locked, you never wanted that groove to end.

Thanks for that! CHIC wrote some of the best R&B in the late 70's/early 80's. Every time I hear one of their cuts I remember where I was and what I was doing.
Tight production, great musicmanship, and they looked good. I even like the stuff they did with Diana and Sister Sledge. They even did an LP with Johnny Mathis but Johnny's label shelved it..Nile said the label thought it was "too funky and extreme" for Johnny's fans.

I'm sure Mrs. Ross will be forever grateful, look what they did with "The Boss"
