Artists that have completely changed.... Today I was listening to some old AFI with my bud, and we were talking about how they are like a completely different band (sound, looks, themes) from the punk group they began as.
He hates the 'new AFI' , but I like them now as much as I like they're old style. So here's my question...What musicians, do you know that completely switched horses on you? Was the change one that you enjoyed, or couldn't really get used to? If you will, so will I

Lionel Richie.
From the tight ass funk of the Commodores to lame ass adult contemporary ballads. [Edited 6/17/07 22:58pm] It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

though not an extreme change; one person that immediately came to mind is P!NK
from this:
to this:
oh yeah click the pics. and i like the change. again..nothing too drastic...but obvious. i love her first album and wish she'd make another like it. but i love her rock-pop stuff as well. i was also going to say Christina Aguilera...but no.

Yeah, I know several people who were really let down with her 2nd album since the R&B was virtually gone, but I thought it was nice that she was showing some versatility. If you will, so will I

Maybe they don't count because of the slight name change, but The Cult started out as Southern Death Cult in 1983:
http://youtube.com/watch?...ed&search= Ian Astbury then shortened the name to The Cult with new members and they sounded like this on their last album: http://www.mtv.com/overdr...&vid=58470
