I made a promise that will only listen to it when it is released. But I'm afraid it will turn out being Zwan with a more profitable name...without James and D'Arcy it's not the same.

no, I haven't.....actually, for me personally the magic was over after 'Mellon Collie....'.....Billy Corgan started to be a real dick eversince!
They've played a festival here in Holland just recently, reviews were not more than lukewarm.....

Adore was pretty damn good for what it was...a 180 degree about-face from what the Pumpkins represented at the time. After that, I completely lost interest, however. I really can't imagine that the new album will rekindle my Pumpkins interest, which is a shame. I still love Pearl Jam to death, and would most likely share the same feelings towards Corgan and company... I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

i've seen them at the pink pop festival where they were the headliners and i have to admit that they sounded pretty good. billy was in rare form and actually managed to sing quite well. my cousin who's really into music and plays/sings herself thought she noticed some stuff that made her believe he was using a backingtape though. anyway, eventhough the show was good, it was boring. i left 30 minutes before the end. the new album doesn't sound a lot like smashing pumpkins. it's got one or two cool moments but that's about it. virtually none of the stuff i fell in love with them for is featured on this album. the impression it left with me after 3 complete spins is that it's an album that comes at you like a wall of sound and only every 5 minutes will something grab your attention for a few seconds, until it sinks away again into a carcrash of guitars and instruments all mixed at a really excruciatingly boring and monotone level. i'm so fucking sad about this if billy wants to cash in on the whole smashing pumpkins rep why not just rade the vault and come up with an album's worth of outtakes or alternate versions? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Does it give you more of a Zwan zibe or a solo Corgan zibe....cause it's essentailly more that than the Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe not in sound, but certainly in creation. I hear people talking about "Machina 2"....I could barely listen to the first outside the singles. It bored me.
