Etta James` cover of "Purple rain"

James recorded the song for her last album, a collection of covers.

Has anyone heard her version?

Well, first, she's not just ANY old lady! Etta James is a true powerhouse, an incredible singer, a LEGEND! Having said that, though, I'm not crazy about her version of "Purple Rain." I just prefer Prince singing his stuff and NO ONE else. I do have ALL of Etta James albums/cds including this one.

That`s for sure... nod

One of my favorite Etta James songs is "Out of the rain", from the album "Stickin` to my guns".

I bought the album when it was released last year.
Her vocal performance was good but I thought the arrangement was weak.
