HOLY CRAP, you guys!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! ok before i write this i just want you to know that i dont mean it to sound arrogant or anything like that, i'm just really excited right now. i'm literally shaking with excitement.
so basically some people here may know, I'm 1 of 2 vocalists in a band, our band is called Swami - www.myspace.com/swamimusic and this summer we are releasing our new album EQUALIZE. i don't really talk about it much on here cos i don't wanna come across as boastful. anyway we are headlining at Glastonbury TONIGHT! Headlining the Roots Tent, i'm finishing packing now and leaving in an hour. so, at Glastonbury, there is like this mini festival guide by The Guardian newspaper that nearly everyone has. in it, there is a "TOP 5 BANDS TO WATCH" for the friday, saturday and sunday. I just got a text from my cousin and fellow bandmember who is already there. So he has the guide, and just texted me to tell me that the top 5 bands to watch in this official guide, are: Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A, Amy Winehouse, and SWAMI. (don't know who the fifth is) FUCK!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! I mean we've had recognition before, we did a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session back in 2005, and we headlined the MTV Awards in Mumbai, India back in 2005 as well, our international fanbase is great, but we've never had a lot of attention here in the UK compared to other countries.....so to be put up there with these calibre of acts is HUGE. I'm shaking right now!!!! Calm down man, calm down...!!! I need to get of the ORG and finish packing arrrgghh!!!! I'm gonna TEAR THAT STAGE TO SHREDS tonight. |
