Forgotten '90s Gem: "Something's Goin' On" by UNV

Words cannot express how much I love this song. It was huge back in '93, but now I doubt there are very many people who remember it. The follow-up single, "Straight From My Heart," was also nice.

When they all go down on their knees near the end... good times, good times...

I definitely remember the track. I remember being so excited over the cd...but was very disappointed. I still have it somewhere in my closet.

Come to think of it, I heard "Something's Goin' On" on XM's Suite 62 a few days ago.

FYI: Do u know that UNV were one of the first acts signed to Madonna's Maverick label?

i think these were some fellow Detroit homeboys.
i remember those joints. they were hits, but listening to them now, in the Boyz II Men / Jodeci/Shai era, they were just mediocre vocally.

I agree with you. I think Boyz II Men out-shined all of them. Not by record sales, but in talent overall.

Really? Vocally, I thought Shai was far and away the best group of the era. Boyz II Men had excellent harmonies, but I'm not enamored with any of them as soloists. He may have been a fool to leave, but Marc Nelson was definitely the best soloist of the group AFAIC. The fellas from Shai could harmonize ("Yours" love), but I thought they all had excellent voices that could stand alone.

I c where u r coming from. To me, Shai sounded good as a group, but I never liked them as individual singers. I loved the live version of "Together Forever" from the Right Back Atcha remix cd.
