Ok... They're Back , but is it for good?

The Police are back. YAYYYYY
I got my tickets... blah blah blah...
Are they really back, IE are they gonna release some new tunes?
it seems to me the three of them are just cashing in on a reunion tour.
I want them to be back, but with Stews constant flaming of each concert and sting. MMM i think this all an illusion
is it just me?

is the tour going well? are the venues selling out? i've been seeing next to no hype about the reunion. no magazine covers, no tv appearances.

they're playing wrigley field in chicago next month and i live close enough that all i have to do is open a window and i'll get a free concert. i'll write a review. lol

Keep us posted. When you think about it, its interesting how lowkey the guys have been with no promos. Perhaps, its intention.

it's an interesting approach, especially considering they're peddling a new police best-of that i think the record label would want to promote. i guess when you're big enough that you don't HAVE to do a reunion tour, you can go low-pro and still sell out sports arenas. shrug

In the transition house I stay at, some of the people are going to work security there. But I'm not going. The Police will be there.

I'm pretty sure they're selling out all venues from what I've seen.
As a big fan of the Police I'm glad they're "reunited" but only if they do some new music. Frankly I don't see that happening. I see Genesis doing that before The Police. We shall see.

Yeah from what i heard Genesis are already working on new tracks, I dont see the Police doing this full time again though and probably not part time. I think the exposure will be big for the Police and for Genesis as both are featured during Live Earth. Funny how Phil Collins and Sting played Live Aid as Solo artists and now Live Earth are back in their perspective bands (though Phil was still Genesis at that point, Sting and the Police had just parted)

Genesis are working on new tracks? I thought they're on tour at the moment. That would be cool news. I just hope they get musically more "adventurous" than their last few albums. Where did you hear this?

It was posted on a Genesis web-site when they first re-united and said they were already working on stuff at that point. They stated they didnt just get together to tour, i believe Phil still has hearing-loss issues, not sure how severe that is and if its in both ears or just one, but im more surprised hes going out on a pretty long tour if theres some sort of health issue.

That would be cool to hear some new music from them. I Hope they would realize no matter how good their new stuff is, don't expect a hit in todays musical climate. With that in mind, I would hope they would just create a great album.
Back on topic, I don't see The Police doing this. They prolly need the money.
Genesis stated they Don't need the money as they are "loaded". They're doing it for fun.
BTW,We should start a Geness thread.

Well keep in mind Sting wrote almost all their songs and most def all their hits. So he's reaping the majority of benefits for that. I'm sure the other two are "hurting" by any means but it's always nice to be able to add a huge amount to your nest egg. No matter who you are. wink

That's what so great about the Crowded House reunion. They've created a great album and they're clearly doing it for the right reasons.
