Where should i start? Recommend me some albums

They were great producers, but as good as they were I always thought their albums had a fair amount of filler (some will probably disagree). I think their first two albums - Chic and C'est Chic - are great. After that, I'd say stick to the hits.

I like the "Risque" album too.

You can't wrong with Chic's first six solo albums IMO. They are all good with C'est Chic and Real People being the best. I'm a big Chic fan so maybe I'm a bit biased, lol!!

It's funny that you mentioned Chic. One of their concerts was shown on BET on Jazz, this weekend. There are new members, they were tight. I loved what I heard. They not only played their own stuff, but what Nile had written for other artist.

The albums mentioned above are great also, but this is definitely one of their best albums (if not their best).

It's a great chronicle of Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers and the band, covering their history, and influence over the years...but it also shows how they got branded as "just a disco band", and how that was used to marginalize Chic's (and other Soul/Funk/Dance groups') achievements, especially with the backlash that occured in late 79 - early '80....thus the "politics" of "disco"....

I wish you could see 'em live! I saw them a couple years ago at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and they were TIGHT. The whole concert hall was on their feet for the entire hour & a half they played! I danced so much I think I was sweating- ended up doing 'the Bump' with some stranger next to me it was so funky!
