Forgotten '90s Gem: "Something's Goin' On" by UNV "Something's Goin' On" by UNV Words cannot express how much I love this song. It was huge back in '93, but now I doubt there are very many people who remember it. The follow-up single, "Straight From My Heart," was also nice. When they all go down on their knees near the end... good times, good times... http://www.mtv.com/partne...ahoo.video Anybody with me? I remember this jam, it got played alot on the radio here in Philly, and at parties I used to go to back then. This song takes me back to 8th grade, 1993 was a great year

I definitely remember the track. I remember being so excited over the cd...but was very disappointed. I still have it somewhere in my closet.
Come to think of it, I heard "Something's Goin' On" on XM's Suite 62 a few days ago. FYI: Do u know that UNV were one of the first acts signed to Madonna's Maverick label? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

i think these were some fellow Detroit homeboys.
i remember those joints. they were hits, but listening to them now, in the Boyz II Men / Jodeci/Shai era, they were just mediocre vocally.

Boyz II Men had excellent harmonies, but I'm not enamored with any of them as soloists. He may have been a fool to leave, but Marc Nelson was definitely the best soloist of the group AFAIC. The fellas from Shai could harmonize ("Yours" ), but I thought they all had excellent voices that could stand alone. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

To me, Shai sounded good as a group, but I never liked them as individual singers. I loved the live version of "Together Forever" from the Right Back Atcha remix cd. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
