I had the funniest conversation the other day. I was talking to a vadge fan and a killie fan and they both were putting the other down for their adoration of each of these broads and I managed to slam both ladies and worship them at the same time. They were both very confused but at the end of it I was still loved

As the 'leaky Kylie' furore rumbles on... (okay, in brief... they weren't leaked deliberately, the leak certainly hasn't been 'contained' properly, some shister has been selling further tracks on Ebay, and the tracks haven't necessarily been pulled from Kylie's next album - In My Arms, after all, is a future classic) ...we thought we'd bring some positive news regarding Kylie's recent work with the guys from Groove Armada. Let's hope we don't get our grubby mits on these songs until day of release! The list of collaborators for Kylie on her latest album project (cutely dubbed 'Kylie X') is fast becoming a who's who of the UK music scene's top teams.



And did Ms Minogue feature?
Yeah, on Thursday we went to a studio down her way and worked on what was our favourite and her favourite of the tunes that we'd come up with. So we got that one down. And then there's another one of the ones we've been working on which she's really into as well. We're off to a good start.

Had you met her before?
Never, no. But she's lovely. She's a great singer and she's incredibly easy to work with. And I think this one track we did is a big tune. I'm quietly confident about it.

Haven't quite a few people worked with her on this album?
They have, yeah. I heard a few snippets here and there just to get the flavour of it. As always we've gone off on a bit of a tangent, but she sounds great on it. She's just brilliant at giving it a real attitude. I think it's gonna be a big one.

But there's no guarantee that she'll use it?
Well she's working with loads of people and there'll be loads and loads of tunes and then she'll pick 12 or 15. But it was a great experience anyway. It was a nice pop moment when we came out of the studio and Kylie was saying hi to Geri Halliwell who was working next door. And there were lots of paparazzi outside. When Tom and I left the studio, Tom even stopped to tie his shoelace to give them plenty of time, but sadly nobody wanted any photographs of us two!

You must be about twice Kylie's height.
Yeah, I stayed seated most of the time. But she did have some excellent boots on which she was very proud of - apparently she got them in a retro shop in Melbourne. They had quite a heel on them, so that brought her a bit nearer to my height! But she was great. She's definitely got that star presence, but she was a lot of fun and it was really nice to meet her. From the way it went, I'm hoping it might be the first of one or two occasions like that.

Of course she's done stuff with your mate Calvin Harris too. She's picking some good people.
Yep. But ours is the best tune! Ha ha! The one that we've done is killer.

And it must be the first time you and Tom have worked on a new track in the studio together for quite a while, after you made the new album at your respective homes in London and Barcelona.
It is. And that went really well. So it's been a good week all round. I've got the old red eyes back again, but apart from that it's been great.

Actually the Kylie fan was slamming his friend for loving Vadge and then I began the conversation talking about how great Confessions is and the vadge fan was beaming valiantly and then I said I wonder how Kylie feels that Madonna did a Kylie album and his smile turned upside down and his other friend took his place It's so true. I feel Madonna did the album that Kylie has been trying to make. Rather, that Kylie has been making that album but in bits and pieces. Madonna just managed to string it together but that felt so like Kylie to me. both girls get slammed, both get praised.

Do you think she got the award due to her illness.? I have nothing against Kylie, she is Ok, but she reminds me a little of Madonna, one of those people who have managed to stay around forever on very little, raw talent, through hard-work and giving the media what they want.

well i don't think she did. if in fact someone decided that was a factor, well that's alwaysd a possibility.

but she has been at the top (so to speak) like MADONNA for the better part of 20 years. she does work hard. the question of talent is a matter of personal opinion as it is with anyone i suppose. lol. she makes great songs that instantly became classics, she's more respected by other 'big name' musicians than people care to realize. sells out arenas in a flash. taken musical risks for her career and stood by them weather or not it was popular to do so at the time or not. i personally believe it's a well deserved honour. the timing of the award may bring question to some but the same can be said about a lot of people at different moments in their careers.

It is a friend who played a gig there and managed to steal a bit of time whilst they were setting up for it. I don't know quite he got away with it, but he has balls.
