The OFFICIAL American blues appreciation thread!

Its the official thread for that good ole blues music, that makes you shake you bootie and stomp your feet !! My great-grandfather listened to Muddy Waters, Albert King, etc...I'm 24 and I've recently started listening to some old blues records...I like classic and contemporary blues artist, any other blues fans? My favorite blues artist are...


Classics:
Bessie Smith
Robert Johnson (of course!)
Ma Rainey
W.C. Handy
Lucille Bogan

Contemporary:
BB King (I'm seeing him in a few weeks here @ Summerfest in Milwaukee!! Yay!!
Millie Jackson (my grandmother used to listen to her!)
Peggy Scott Addams
Ko Ko Taylor
Clarence Carter
Johnnie Taylor

Yep, I know about his children lol I've seen that documentary film nod

He was a dysfunctional man, god rest his soul.

As for his singing, I recently realized that he started his singing career by imitating Paul Robeson and his "Old Man River" routine, he wanted to sing opera too but club owners hounded him with the "nobody wants to see a colored man singing opera" talk.
