It's a pretty good album, but I wouldn't rank it up there with classic five records he released throughout 1972-1976. My favorite song is actually the last one called Sunshine In Their Eyes. I Wanna Talk To You is the weakest song on the record, but it shows the political and social state of mind he was in and what he was going to talk about in his remaining five landmarks. I think it's a solid album, but I agree with you that it isn't up there with those others. Of course, it's much more consistent than SSD and everything else that came before it. It's #8 for me, behind SITKOL, FFF, Innervisions, Talking Book, Hotter Than July, JTTSLOP, and Music of My Mind. I also agree about "I Wanna Talk to You." My favorite is definitely "If You Really Love Me," which is easily one of his best songs. Still on my '90s kick. Just finished: "If You Feel the Need" by Shomari Now: "If You're Serious" by Riff "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

What's on yours? I have a hits playlist, but I couldn't get it down to one disc. 1. I Want Her 2. Something Just Ain't Right 3. Don't Stop Your Love 4. Make You Sweat 5. Your Love Part 2 6. Keep It Comin' 7. Why Me Baby? (Hip Hop Mix) 8. How Do You Like It (Part 2) 9. Twisted 10. My Body - LSG 11. Make It Last Forever 12. How Deep Is Your Love 13. Right and a Wrong Way 14. Merry Go Round 15. I'll Give All My Love to You 16. (There You Go) Tellin' Me No Again 17. Get Up On It 18. Nobody 19. Why Me Baby? (Keith Sweat Mix) Looking over it now, I guess I could whittle it down to under 80 minutes by cutting "How Do You Like It" and "My Body" while using the radio edits of some songs (like "Merry Go Round" in particular). I don't think I could bear to part with either of the two "Why Me Baby?" remixes. "I Want to Love You Down" was the last single I cut, but I just can't include it over the album tracks from Make It Last Forever. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Maybe I'm crazy,,,but I hear some sadness & confusion in him during that period 88-89.
