Vanessa Williams - "Sister moon" This smooth Sting composition is beautiful, anyone else know it?

Vanessa actually annoys me, but somehow I ended up with this album for a time. I don't recall the song you mention, but I vaguely remember another midtempo song with a cranking bassline. I loved it.

The song I'm thinking of is "You Can't Run." I took a listen at "Sister Moon" on amazon.com. It's not bad either.

I prefer "Betcha Never" and "You Can't Run". Her remake of "Constantly" was decent on this album also. I really love Vanessa. I hate that she changed from this DANCE QUEEN on her first 2 albums and turned into a Celine Dion wannabe. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Thanks for the info. Agreed. Vanessa sometimes does a decent job at jazz interpreations of songs. [Edited 6/14/07 15:09pm]

I still haven`t gotten the two first albums, the material sounds weak to me, dated. She`s at her best as a ballad queen Her version of "Someone like you" from the "Next" album is gorgeous

man, i love me some Vanessa. Rick Fox is on crack for letting their marriage go awry. man, i had the poster of the Comfort Zone album when it was out, sensual as all get out. that album was hot too. i imagine it would sound dated now, but she did her thing. best miss America ever! i love her version of What Child is This from her Christmas album too. forget Paula, Vanessa is "Forever my girl" and those eyes...

I have this album and I love it. (But I'm a huge Vanessa fan. Since 4th grade. More nudes please!)
Anyway, my favorite songs on here are: "Higher Ground" "You Don't Have to Say You're Sorry" and "Long Way Home."

Sting's original is like "Sting at the 3 penny opera after tea time with Branford" and the version with Herbie is like "Sting gets SCHOOLED by Herbie at the Juke Joint after a lil' bit o' Martel"
